About Earned Edges

I started Earned Edges because I needed a place to write honestly about the things I’ve spent my life learning, doing, and working through. Some of it is professional. Some of it is personal. Most of it is both, because that’s how experience actually works. The operational stuff and the philosophical stuff aren’t separate categories. They feed each other.

I write about capability, identity, tradecraft, performance. If I’ve done it, I’ll tell you what I learned. If I’m still figuring it out, I’ll say that too. I’m not here to package things neatly or chase whatever topic is getting attention this week. I’m here to think clearly, tell the truth, and put something down that’s actually useful to someone.

If you want a feel for what this is, read Beauty in the Broken Places for the philosophical side of what drives the work, and Terminal Tactics for something more technical, pulled from real-world experience. Between those two, you’ll know pretty quickly whether this is for you.

Glad you’re here.
